  14.                 ICPR 2026 Call for Doctoral Consortium The ICPR 2026 conference is
  15.                 delighted to announce the second edition of its Doctoral
  16.                 Consortium, an exclusive event for PhD students who are currently
  17.                 enrolled at the time of the conference or who have just defended their
  18.                 thesis within the past year. Attending the Doctoral Consortium at the
  19.                 International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) offers numerous
  20.                 benefits for PhD students:

  50.             <h3>About the ICPR 2026 Doctoral Consortium</h3>
  54.             <p> Following the success of its first edition at ICPR 2024, the 2026 Doctoral Consortium aims to continue fostering
  55.                 collaboration and innovation among PhD students. The goal is to provide PhD students with an opportunity to
  56.                 present their research ideas, share their current progress and future plans, and receive constructive criticism
  57.                 and insights. This consortium welcomes submissions from all thematic tracks of ICPR. PhD students who have
  58.                 submitted regular papers to ICPR (even if not accepted) are encouraged to participate and present their work.</p>
  60.             <p>
  61.                 Participation in the ICPR 2026 Doctoral Consortium will be limited to 25 students. It aims to facilitate
  62.                 communication on early-stage research topics, foster collaboration for concluding theses, and allow students to
  63.                 benefit from the experience of senior visitors who can provide valuable suggestions and guidance during the
  64.                 sessions.

  66.             <p>
  67.                 The Doctoral Consortium will take place on the opening day of ICPR (Monday, August 17 — <a href="https://icpr2026.org/program.html">see
  68.                     program page</a>). Participation is limited to live, in-person presentations.
  69.             </p>
  72.             <h2> Eligibility </h2>
  73.             Students must be conducting research in one of the domains of ICPR and be within 6 months of graduating with their
  74.             doctoral degree, taking into account the conference dates.
  77.             <h2>Submission Procedure</h2>
  79.             <p>
  80.                 Students interested in participating
  81.                 should submit an application in a single PDF file (file 1: 4-5 pages
  82.                 max), also accompanied by a supporting letter from their advisor
  83.                 confirming the actual / estimated date of graduation (file 2: short
  84.                 letter in a second PDF file). The submission should be prepared using
  85.                 the instructions and style files for Springer computer science
  86.                 proceedings. The LaTeX template for LNCS can be downloaded
  87.                 <a href="https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines">
  88.                     here </a> and is also available on Overleaf. Both files (1 and 2) have
  89.                 to be submitted into a single zip file.
  90.             </p><p>
  93.                 <b>Students who have also an accepted paper to ICPR 2026 or to any satellite workshops can upload their ICPR
  94.                     accepted paper as a supplementary file (file 3).</b>
  97.             </p><p>
  98.                 <b>The PDF file (file 1 with 4 or 5 pages limit) should contain the following information:</b>
  99.             </p><ul>
  100.                 <li> At header: student's name, University, Title of your PhD, Supervisor of the PhD, Starting and expected
  101.                     finalization date of the PhD</li>
  102.                 <li> As content, the document will address the following elements: main topic with the problem statement, a brief
  103.                     state-of-art (including references), methodology and contributions (steps made so far including a list of
  104.                     publications), and the actions planned before finishing the PhD, especially novel research ideas to be pursued.
  105.                     For post-PhD, we also ask for a career plan. </li>

  110.             <h2> Review Process </h2>
  111.             <p>As acceptance criteria, the DC committee will consider the following elements: PhD must be in the topics of the
  112.                 conference, students with ongoing PhD are prioritized, ideas must be clearly stated, and a recommendation letter
  113.                 must accompany the submission.
